Baking pears is a delicious way to enhance their natural sweetness and create a warm, comforting dessert. Here's a simple recipe to bake pears:

Ingredients:

  • 4 ripe pears
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional)
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts (such as walnuts or almonds)
  • Honey or maple syrup for drizzling (optional)
  • Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking dish with parchment paper or lightly grease it to prevent sticking.
  2. Wash the pears and slice them in half lengthwise. Remove the cores and seeds using a spoon or melon baller, creating a hollow in the center of each pear half.
  3. Place the pear halves cut-side up in the baking dish.
  4. In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg until the sugar has dissolved and the mixture is well combined.
  5. Spoon the butter and sugar mixture over each pear half, making sure to fill the hollowed-out centers as well.
  6. Sprinkle the chopped nuts evenly over the pears.
  7. Bake the pears in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes or until they are tender and the tops are golden brown.
  8. Remove the pears from the oven and let them cool slightly.
  9. Serve the baked pears warm, drizzled with honey or maple syrup if desired. You can also top them with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for added indulgence.

Enjoy your delicious baked pears!
