Dropping a hair dryer or toaster into a large swimming pool could be extremely dangerous and potentially fatal. Both hair dryers and toasters are electrical appliances that are not designed to be used in or around water. When submerged in water, they can cause electric shocks and pose a serious risk to anyone in the pool.

The danger comes from the fact that water is a good conductor of electricity. When the appliance is immersed, the water can make contact with live electrical components, leading to the flow of electric current through the water. If a person is in the water at the time, they could become the path of least resistance for the electric current, resulting in an electric shock that may cause injury or death.

Regardless of the size of the swimming pool, it is never safe to drop electrical appliances into the water. Pools are often connected to electrical systems for lighting, pumps, and other devices, which can exacerbate the risks.

To ensure safety:

  1. Never use electrical appliances near water, including swimming pools, bathtubs, or sinks.
  2. Always keep electrical appliances away from water sources.
  3. If an electrical appliance falls into water, do not attempt to retrieve it yourself. Instead, disconnect the power supply before attempting to remove it safely.

Even in a large body of water, the risk is still significant and can lead to serious consequences. Therefore, it's essential to use electrical appliances responsibly and always follow safety guidelines to prevent accidents and potential hazards.
