To make chicken tikka pieces in a pressure cooker, you can follow these steps:

Ingredients:

  • 500 grams boneless chicken, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons ginger-garlic paste
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 2 teaspoons ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika or Kashmiri red chili powder (adjust to your spice preference)
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • Chopped coriander leaves for garnishing

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the yogurt, lemon juice, ginger-garlic paste, ground cumin, ground coriander, turmeric powder, paprika or red chili powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix well to form a marinade.

  2. Add the chicken pieces to the marinade and coat them thoroughly. Allow the chicken to marinate for at least 1 hour, or preferably overnight in the refrigerator to enhance the flavors.

  3. Heat the oil in the pressure cooker on medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add the marinated chicken pieces and sauté them for a few minutes until they start to brown slightly.

  4. Close the pressure cooker with its lid, ensuring it is properly sealed. Cook on medium-high heat until you hear the first whistle or the pressure indicator rises.

  5. Once the first whistle is heard, reduce the heat to low and cook for an additional 5-6 minutes.

  6. Turn off the heat and allow the pressure to release naturally. Do not attempt to open the pressure cooker until the pressure has completely released.

  7. Carefully open the pressure cooker lid. The chicken tikka pieces should be tender and cooked through.

  8. If desired, you can transfer the chicken tikka pieces to a baking sheet and broil them in the oven for a few minutes to get a charred and smoky flavor. Alternatively, you can also grill them on a barbecue.

  9. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve the chicken tikka pieces hot with naan bread, rice, or as desired. You can also serve them with mint chutney or yogurt sauce.

Note: It's important to adjust the cooking time based on the size and thickness of the chicken pieces. Ensure that the chicken is cooked thoroughly before consuming.
