Putting a can of Coca-Cola (or any carbonated beverage) in the freezer for an extended period of time can have several consequences, some of which may affect the taste, texture, and safety of the drink:

  1. Frozen soda explosion: Carbonated beverages contain dissolved carbon dioxide gas, which creates the fizz and bubbles when you open the can.
